This page details how to get started on contributing to the Worlio Wiki, as well as exercising the best wiki practices.

===== Formatting =====
Worlio Wiki uses [[doku>DokuWiki]] as its wiki software. As such, it is encouraged to familiarize yourself with its [[doku>wiki:syntax|Formatting Syntax]]. We also use a few plugins that add extra functionality:

  * [[doku>plugin:toctweak|TocTweak Plugin]]
  * [[doku>plugin:wrap|Wrap Plugin]]

==== Infobox ====
On pages about software, products, or services, it is highly requested they adorn an "Infobox" on the top-right of the page. The Infobox should contain small but relevant information about the topic of the page. This can be birth, death, release, platform support, developer, publisher, aliases, etc. It is recommended to look at existing Infoboxes on various pages to get an idea of what is relevant.

Infoboxes should always align right, and be placed right below the page title and above any text.

==== Tagging ====
It's recommended to tag pages using the [[doku>plugin:tag|Tag Plugin]]. The tag syntax should be placed above the page title heading for accessibility. Tags should never contain namespaces, that is done automatically.

Anyone can contribute, but those who follow this section usually do it well.

==== Provide References & Sources ====
Not everything can be sourced, but it is encouraged to try and provide one for accuracy. Unverified claims may be removed, and easily disputable claims can be assumed as vandalism and lead to a suspension.

==== Don't Novelize ====
While providing lots of details can be useful to help readers understand, not always is it relevant or important to the topic. Try to keep things short and tidy, link to other relevant pages, and categorize sections to remain consistent.

==== Collaborate ====
This Wiki is a collaborative community effort. As such, you should get comfortable using Talk pages to discuss problems or edits with the rest of the community. You can navigate or create a Talk page through the button labelled "Start a Discussion" on the sidebar.
