From a discussion with Terry_NZ (a confirmed user of Worlds Chat at the time), he mentioned that there was no update required to see the event. This directly contradicts this article. He states that it was done through the network, clever tricks with the server. I think that is quite impressive considering what I do know of the protocol. Either way, we have a confirmed user contradicting this article.
